Rip Curl has returned to Phillip Island in a big way
It may not be common knowledge that Rip Curl was an integral part of Phillip Island’s early surf scene, but they have had a strong hand in shaping surf in the region. One of their first factories was in Newhaven, just over the bridge to the island, where they manufactured boards and wetsuits. As their company grew they consolidated over in Torquay, however they never lost their affection for the Island and the South Coast region.
The former Islantis Surf Store has been rebranded, refurbished and reinvigorated. The first sign of change is the stunningly illuminated Rip Curl Tower, an iconic part of any Rip Curl store, and the new paintwork in Rip Curl colours. Above the front door is another illuminated picture featuring Nikki Van Dyke, a local surfer who is rapidly making a name for herself on the international surf scene as a Rip Curl team rider.
Inside there is all new flooring, walls, lights and fixtures which bring a light and modern retail experience to the Bass Coast region. Four 50” TV’s line one wall, showing stunning surf footage interspersed with fashion models wearing the latest designs.
The store features the latest and best selection of Rip Curl products in the region.
The selection of wetsuits is extensive. Flashbomb zip free wetsuits and the Bombshell series for women are hot items at the moment. For those on looking for a more affordable range there is a complete selection of Peak wetsuits. The range of Mirage board shorts & bikinis is also huge. Core surf fashion in the latest Rip Curl deigns and colours will fill the needs of anyone wanting to look good.
Rip Curl is more than just fashion and clothing. The range of F-Light travel bags are a great gift idea and perfect for a trip to Bali or beyond. A huge range of watches are on display, and any half serious surfer should check out the GPS watch. You can track your performance on the waves via GPS and view on a computer or mobile device later and know your speed, length of ride and a heap of other ‘bragable’ facts. For serious eye protection there is a range of Rip Curl and Oakley sunglasses.
A visit to Rip Curl Phillip Island is a must for the everyone, from the serious surfer through to the casual beach goer.
